Another Fable Problem

Hi,

I've begun to play Fable, I'm now at the time when Maze gives u the
"Archaeologist" quest, and when it autosaves after the dialogue (when
Maze talks to u about it), the game crashes to desktop. I realized I
can't save at the Heroes guild, so I'd like 2 find a workaround (like
disabling autosave).
I didn't find any1 else on teh net with the same error , so I think it's
because I used the hero save "glitch" to get more silver keys (if you
see what I'm talking about), and not my config, but here it is:

Win XP
P4 3Ghz C
Radeon 9800 Pro 128mb
1 Gig RAM
Asus P4P800 Deluxe

I have had a LOT of problems with saves, particularly auto saves. First,
they take FOREVER now (15 minutes not being uncommon) and frequently crash.
I think there is a fundamental problem. I'd love to know how to fix it/get
around it. There is a knowledge base article that gives all kinds of
suggestions about disabling things (was Q303032). I've done everything
suggested, including re-installing the program and setting up a clean boot.
No change in the behaviour of the game. There are ALWAYS issues with saving.
Yuck.

Same here...the game works fine as long as I never do Hero Saves...after a
couple Hero Saves, Autosave gets slow....or crashes to the desktop with no
error message. I too have tried disabling things, but I think it's a waste of
time because if I go through the game with no Hero Saves, it works perfectly.
My bet is a glitch of some kind with Hero Saves.

If I do a World Save after several Hero Saves, the World Save takes up to 5
minutes and then it won't reload (crashes, same as above).

I also noticed if you get too many Silver Keys early in the game (more than
20) it gets really, really bad. It's like since there are not 20 keys
available (that early in the game) it vapor locks.

I have tested this over and over, it will lock up the game 100% of the time
(at least on my PC) if you get more than 20 keys prior to the Arena.

yo i got the same freaking problem oso...cannot let it autosave if not it'll
kick me out of the game why is this so...and howcome there is noone attending
to this problem...does anyone frm ms have any idea that pple here are calling
for help?...or m i jus in the wrong place to see the wrong problem?????pls
help pls pls pls
